BEFORE AND AFTER: RIDGE LIVING ROOM WINDOW TREATMENTS

TODAY WE INSTALLED SOME MUCH NEEDED WINDOW TREATMENTS. A ROOM NEVER FEELS COMPLETE WITHOUT THEM! HERE'S A BEFORE SHOT.....

AND HERE WAS THE COLOR SCHEME I WAS WORKING OFF....THE HOMEOWNER HAS AN OCCASIONAL CHAIR UPHOLSTERED IN THIS BEAUTIFUL SCHUMACHER FABRIC. SINCE THE ROOM ALREADY HAD LOTS OF GREEN (SOFAS), WE CHOSE A DIFFERENT DIRECTION.

ANOTHER BEFORE SHOT......
 AND THE AFTER!

THE BUILT-IN CORNICES REALLY LIMITED OUR DESIGN OPTIONS. BUT I THINK THE LONDON SHADES WERE THE PERFECT CHOICE. WE CHOSE A VERY NARROW GREEN EDGE.....DIDN'T WANT IT LOOKING CUTSIE!! AND IT REALLY TIES IN THE GREEN FROM THE SOFAS.

Interior Decorating Styles

Interior decorating is a major part of a good home and there are several interior decorating tips that one can use to achieve a beautiful and well maintained ambient in the house. It doesn't take a lot to make the inner part of a room beautiful and it is quite affordable as well. You don't really need to buy many thing, all you need is a good eye for details, color and pattern co-ordination.

For example you can use fresh flowers to bring any room to life. The natural beauty and smell of fresh plucked (or bought) flowers lighten the mood and make the room ambient more peaceful and happy. You can never have too many fresh flowers at home. You can either use them in the form of bouquets or in a vase, depending on your preferences.

When it comes to using fabrics for a well designed inner decoration, you can use fabrics that are pleasing to the eyes. The motifs should be light and not overpowering. Choose fabrics with a classic and evergreen feel to them, such as paisleys, stripes, circles or flower motifs. These are always in style and can be bought at any time, regardless of the season of the year.

Also when it comes to curtains and upholstery, the lighter and rather neutral hues are very popular nowadays. If you want to save some money when it comes to fabric you can buy pure cotton yarn, or mixes of silk and cotton, and various synthetic yarns that are not expensive yet still look good.

Interior Decorating Tips

Few of us realize the importance of Interior decorating tips. It is a well known fact that a good home is the combination of good plan, well decorated interiors and neatly maintained exteriors. It is not only affordable but also everlasting with a little bit of care and eye for details. Though interior decorating tips can be effectively done with a little imagination, it is not necessary that we should be a professional to bring about the effect.

Enliven your interiors with the beauty and aroma of fresh flowers. Their natural beauty and often the natural aroma that comes with them are great reasons for having as many of them around your home as possible. Whether as bouquets or festoon over your threshold they at once brighten your home and are also auspicious elements in the home. Other tips is that you can make your interiors vibrant and colorful with ethnic decor. For example, you could do up your sitting room interiors in Greek style. Therefore, decide the theme for your interior decoration and shop for the material accordingly.

For interior decorating purpose, one can get fabrics that are easy on the pocket and have a lasting appeal. Good looking furnishing can be made with affordable fabric too. When selecting fabrics, go in for those that are easy on the eye. The motifs should ideally not be dominating or too large. Rather they must have a classic, timeless feel about them. For instance, paisleys, stripes or floral will never go out of vogue. More and more light and neutral hues in drapes and upholstery are becoming sought after, even though they may call for more trips to the dry cleaners. Affordable fabrics include 100 percent cotton yarn, cotton and silk mixes, voile, thin and thick mull, and certain kinds of synthetic yarn, like polyester or polyester blends with soft finishes. Using them creatively is what creates a perfect ambience
